Most interior paint jobs do not fail because of the paint. They fail because of what happened before the paint — a wall that was not sanded, a repair that was not primed, a trim edge cut in with a brush that had already gone dry. Those are the things you notice six months later, in raking afternoon light, from the couch.
We are a licensed and insured interior painting company based in Hampton Bays, painting homes in Southampton, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton and across The Hamptons — from year-round houses to seasonal homes that sit closed up for months at a time. The work is the same either way: protect everything, prepare properly, and put the finish on in the right conditions.
What an interior job actually includes
A full interior includes far more than rolling the walls. On a typical room we are handling five separate surfaces, each with its own preparation and its own product.
- Walls — patched, sanded smooth, spot-primed where we repaired, then two finish coats. Bigger cracks and water damage get proper drywall repair first.
- Ceilings — flat finish to hide imperfection, cut clean at the wall line with no shadow.
- Trim, doors and casings — degreased, sanded, and coated in a waterborne alkyd that levels out brush marks and cures to a hard finish that does not stay tacky in summer humidity.
- Closets and interiors of doors — the parts most crews quietly skip.
- Kitchen cabinets and built-ins — when requested, degreased, scuff-sanded, bonding-primed and sprayed for a factory-smooth surface.
Houses near the water have different problems
A seasonal house that gets closed in October and opened in May comes back with problems an inland house never has. Humidity sits in a shut-up house all winter. Mildew appears on north-facing walls, in closets, and behind furniture that was pushed against an exterior wall. Salt air pulls moisture through the envelope.
Painting over that is a waste of money — it comes back through the new coat within a season. We treat the affected areas first, find out whether it is a ventilation issue or an actual water source, and tell you which one it is before we quote the finish work. If the cause is a leak, painting is the last step, not the first.
Protection and cleanup
We cover floors wall to wall — not a drop cloth thrown over the middle of the room. Furniture gets moved to the center and wrapped. Hardware, switch plates and vent covers come off rather than getting cut around. Sanding is done with dust collection where the work calls for it.
At the end of each day the room is put back to a usable state, and at the end of the job everything goes back where it came from. You should not be finding paint chips on a windowsill in August.
Paint we use and why
We work mainly with Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams premium lines. It is not brand loyalty — it is that these paints hold their sheen consistency across a large wall, touch up without flashing, and stand up to being wiped down. On a long hallway or an open-plan great room, cheaper paint shows every roller lap.
Sheen matters as much as the brand. Flat and matte on ceilings and low-traffic walls, eggshell or matte in living areas, satin in kitchens, baths and mudrooms where surfaces get cleaned. We will tell you where a higher sheen will show wall imperfection you do not want highlighted.
How we work
Walk-through and written estimate
We look at every room, note the repairs, and give you a fixed written price. No surprises at the end.
Protect
Floors covered, furniture moved and wrapped, hardware removed, edges masked.
Repair and prepare
Holes, cracks and nail pops filled, sanded flush, and spot-primed so repairs do not flash through the finish.
Prime where needed
Stains, bare patches, drastic color changes and glossy trim all get the correct primer first.
Finish coats
Two coats, cut in by brush and rolled or sprayed depending on the surface.
Walk it with you
We go room by room with you before we load the truck. Anything you point out gets fixed that day.
Where we work
We are based in Hampton Bays and paint interiors across the whole East End, from Westhampton and Quogue to Southampton, East Hampton and Montauk. Estimates are free everywhere we serve, with no travel charge.
